چکیده
Supramolecular aggregation of a novel nonfluorescent gelator yields highly luminescent organogels in aprotic organic solvents through intermolecular hydrogen bonding, which is a key motif for both self-assembly and photophysical process control.

Supramolecular polymerization in water harnessing both hydrophobic effects and hydrogen bond formation.
The formation of supramolecular polymers in water through rational design of a benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (BTA) motif is presented. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic effects cooperate in the self-assembly into long fibrillar aggregates. Minimal changes in molecular structure significantly affect the internal packing of the aggregates.

The benzoxazole derivative gelator forms a stable DMF/toluene cosolvent gel with dramatically enhanced fluorescence emission compared to its mother solution. The translucent colorless gel was changed to a solution with strong greenish fluorescence in the presence of fluoride anion with disruption of the gel structure.
متن کاملResponsive organogels formed by supramolecular self assembly of PEG-block-allyl-functionalized racemic polypeptides into β-sheet-driven polymeric ribbons.
A chemically reactive hybrid diblock polypeptide gelator poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(dl-allylglycine) (PEG-b-PDLAG) is an exceptional material, due to the characteristics of thermo-reversible organogel formation driven by the combination of a hydrophilic polymer chain linked to a racemic oligomeric homopeptide segment in a range of organic solvents. One-dimensional stacking of the block co...
متن کاملRevisiting the assembly of amino ester-based benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamides: chiral rods in solution.
Some benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (BTA) monomers derived from (l) α-amino esters self-assemble into long rods at millimolar concentrations, and display a strong chiral amplification effect. These rods are in competition with dimeric species.
متن کاملExternal electric field reverses helical handedness of a supramolecular columnar stack.
Benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (BTA) molecules self-assemble into one-dimensional columnar structures that possess a macrodipole moment along the stacking direction. Application of an external electric field on their liquid crystalline (LC) phase consisting of aligned stacks leads to a net polarization whose sign can be reversed by changing the direction of the field. Atomistic molecular dynamics...
